EATING OUT

Eating out in the Portes du Soleil area offers a wide range of options, from high-altitude mountain restaurants to traditional French and Swiss cuisine in the valley towns. You can find everything from Savoyard specialties like fondue to modern cafes and breweries.

Below are a few favourites.

Chez Toto (Saint Jean d’Aulps)
A five minute drive down to the village where you can park right outside, you always get a warm welcome at Chez Toto who make excellent homemade burgers, including vegetarian and children’s options. Eat in or take away.

L’Etabli (Grande Terche)
A five minute walk from the apartment, L’Etabli is lively and popular with locals and offers great pizzas to eat in or take away as well as traditional Savoyard dishes like raclette, fondue etc.

Alba Bar & Grill (Saint Jean d’Aulps)
Relaxed and informal bar and restaurant serving top notch, hearty food…in particular the curries and Sunday roasts. Cosy inside in the winter months there’s also seating outside to enjoy the summer sun.

Hideout (Morzine)
Focusing on fresh, vibrant Asian street food, it’s all good from bao bowls, gyozas, small plates and the weekly specials. A favourite haunt for skiers or cyclists returning from a day in the hills.

IBEX Wood Yard (Montriond)
Fairly new to the scene and growing rapidly in reputation, the brewery and taproom also serves great burgers and specials. Well worth picking up a few bottles to take home while you’re there.

Kamado Kitchen (Morzine)
Yards from the ski slopes, Kamado is a small and very popular Pan Asian restaurant, speciality coffee shop, bar and takeaway in the heart of Morzine. Book to avoid disappointment.

Hotel Du Lac (Montriond)
Featuring a restaurant, bar and covered terrace the Hotel Du Lac is a great place to eat and take in the views. French fare along with English Sunday roasts and raclette nights are all in order.
